Geospatial Data Resources

Information about where to find geospatial data is probably the most common question asked in the GIS world. Entire organizations, volunteer groups, and hundreds or thousands of web sites are dedicated to making geospatial data easier to find and understand. DelGeotech will do its part by providing a summary of primary (in our opinion!) basemap geospatial data for Delaware.

Metadata are not currently available on these pages for many Delaware datasets. If we link to the data project/organization website, then most likely you'll find any necessary information there. If metadata was delivered with the data when we obtained it, then it is also included in the download. Otherwise, you will need to do some research to learn more about the data. This may change in the near-future, however, as the needs, metadata availability, and technical functionality arises.

Note: The Delaware DataMIL provides online mapping and extract capabilities for the Delaware Spatial Data Framework (DSDF) layers. They also make this data available via ArcIMS image and feature map services and have current plans to offer other types of data access. When that happens, this site will simply link DSDF data sets to DataMIL.

Global, USA National, and Regional data links are provided here for completeness. Many of these datasets encompass Delaware geographically in their extent. Some have a direct or indirect impact on how we use Delaware data. Feel free to make comments on those pages or contact us in other ways about the non-Delaware data as well.
